through falling snow
i would pick my way
if it would fall here
instead of down country
where it hovers in the sky
kissing mountains
and occasionally
flat earth
but here
northern climes
how we southerners like
to perplex our brethren
in more northern hemispheres
watch how the clouds
grow darker
the further south you go
heavy with ice and snow
here in these parts
we feel chilled
and ashamed
for we know it is
no true winter
as we fight the wind
and the rain
Beautiful poem, I love it 🙂
What lovely poetry your blog has.
