somewhere, the sky is falling

moon-like satellites
will form craters
splitting apart
as they fall
and a fragment
lands
gently but
without warning
in the corner of
your eye
and the itch starts
a frenzy and
last-night’s eyeliner
smudges to the brow
as you try to dislodge
a fallen pseudo-star
