graffitied mural

a mural in a
rough part of town
some kind of history
lovingly told in hired strokes
limited palettes
neighbourhood solidarity
as if we would link arms
stand together and
embrace these old and slightly
dilapidated facades
for the sake of memory
brought into a brave new world
in broad streams of neon hues
